An inventor has come up with an idea that could revolutionise the cycling world.

Mike Robinson with his invention

Kidlington-based Mike Robinson has designed a bike that is powered using hands as well as feet, which could be a boon for fitness fanatics.

Mr Robinson said: "It's a hybrid machine that's taken the basic cycle and added levers so that you can use all four limbs. It's ridiculous that with a normal bike you don't do anything with your arms. Machines like this exist in gyms but you don't go anywhere."

The idea has attracted a lot of interest. Mr Robinson, 67, a former computer engineer at Oxford University, believes it could also benefit disabled users.
