Oxford United's newest face says he has dropped two divisions so that he can play his part in a championship-winning team.
Lee SteeleLee Steele was snapped up on a free transfer by United boss Ian Atkins after enjoying two successive title campaigns with Brighton.
But the 28-year-old was frustrated by the lack of a regular first-team place, and has moved to The Kassam Stadium with the intention of completing his hat-trick.
Steele added that United's ambitious plans for the future and their stadium were the main reasons for his move, although he said that former Brighton teammate Andy Crosby also played his part in convincing him to leave the Seagulls.
"When Brighton got promotion from the third division, I had some off-the-field problems and didn't play a great deal because of injury. So although I have got a Division 3 championship medal, I didn't feel part of it and have come here to get another," he said.
