Hungry and homeless young people in Banbury will get free fish and chip suppers -- thanks to a deal struck between Banbury and Grimsbury Fish Bars and a voluntary group.
Under the arrangement, Banbury Young Homeless Project can send homeless young people to the fish bars to get at least one good meal a day.
Tim Yeomans, chairman of BYHP's management committee, said: "We are very grateful. The young people who come to BYHP often haven't eaten for days.
"BYHP provides advice, information, and support to young people who are homeless or in housing need.
"We work with about 250 young people every year.
"The deal with the fish bars is an example of the many ways the community can become involved with BYHP."
BYHP project co-ordinator Lynda Chalcroft said: "There are lots of ways local people can help.
"We're looking for people to help with fundraising or to provide accomodation for our nightstop and supported lodgings schemes."
Offers of help or support for BYHP should be made on 01295 259442.
