Schoolchildren have won a £5,000 award for taking an interest in their surroundings.

The cheque and a cup were presented to Blake Primary School in Witney, by the High Sheriff of Oxfordshire, Lady McLintock.
The award was made by the Thames Valley Partnership of local authorities for the best community and environment project by schoolchildren in the past year. The pupils helped improve a playground on the Cogges estate.
