A 22-year-old woman fought off armed muggers who attempted to steal her mobile phone.
The woman, who has not been named, pushed a man with a gun to the ground when he tried to rob her as she walked home from a Banbury supermarket.
The woman was crossing the footbridge over Upper Windsor Street after a visit to Morrisons, when she saw two men and two girls.
One of the men blocked her path and told her to hand over her phone. She refused and he tried to grab it. After a struggle, the woman managed to get the phone back into her bag.
The second man produced a gun -- possibly an airgun -- from his inside pocket and threatened her. The woman did not believe the gun was real, pushed the attacker to the ground, and ran off.
Both men were white, between 17 and 19. One was about 6ft tall, skinny, had short, light hair, possibly gelled, wore a dark woolly jumper and dark trousers and spoke with a local accent.
The second man was between 5ft 4in and 5ft 6in tall and stocky. He had short, scruffy hair, stubble, dimples, and wore a mid-length black jacket.
Anyone with information about the incident, which took place on Wednesday, October 2, should call 01295 754576 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
