A craftsman famed for his skilled work on buildings across Wantage has died, aged 87.
Ken Payne, of Park View, a self-taught metalwork expert, was born in the town.
In 1970, he gave up his post as vehicle inspector with car manufacturer MG in Abingdon, to pursue his passion full-time.
He repaired many items, from benches in Wantage town centre to bronze statues in stately homes.
Friend Bernard Conolly, said: "He was jack of all trades and master of them all. He'll be sorely missed.'"
