Would-be pop idols will get the chance to win a recording contract at a talent show this month.

The search for a star will be held at The Toad pub, in Banbury, on Saturday, October 26.

Entrants must turn up at the High Street venue ready to sing a song of their choice, without music.

They should also dress in a style that suits their image.

The best of the bunch will be invited to stay for a second round, in which they will be asked to sing one of four songs -- this time with backing music.

The winner will be chosen by a panel consisting of Gary Bellamy of Butteryflymusic, Tony Ilott of The Sun Lounge, Lee McCallum of The Toad, and recording artist Adele Mansell.

The winner will get a recording contract with Butterflymusic, which has a studio in Bloxham.

He or she will also be treated to a beauty makeover at The Sun Lounge, and a photo shoot at J Woodward, both in White Lion Walk, Banbury.

Entrants should be 16 or over, and under-18s must have their parents' permission to take part.

Anyone interested should turn up at The Toad on the day. Call Mr Bellamy for more information on 07876 720393.
