Oxford has been chosen as a starting point for a national charity bike ride.
Next April, hundreds of cyclists will leave Oxpens Meadow for a 70-mile bike ride to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
Thousands more people from across Britain will take part in The Bike Show event on April 23, from starting points in London, Birmingham, Derby, Manchester and Sheffield.
This is the first ride organised by The Bike Show, a three-day event held at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre every April.
Gavin Brown, managing director of Haymarket Exhibitions, which is organising the event, said: "This is intended to become the world's biggest charity bike ride with 60,000 riders and 12 start points by spring 2007.
"We hope to raise £5m each year for the British Heart Foundation."
To take part should call 09067 530167 or visit www.thebikeshow.com
The entry fee is £21.
