Drugs stolen from a chemist's shop could be highly dangerous, police have warned.

Thieves broke into the Co-op Pharmacy, in Barberry Place, Bure Park, Bicester, on October 20, stealing a quantity of prescription drugs in boxes and bottles.

Pc Ricky Smith, of Bicester police, fears the drugs could be found by children if they have been dumped.

He said: "The offenders broke into locked cabinets to get at the drugs. They are only available on prescription and if misused are potentially life-threatening.

"Our fear is that they will be passed-on or sold-on, or dumped where children will pick them up.

"Anyone offered tablets or injections on the black market should refuse outright and tell the police.

"We don't want anyone's health put at risk."

A quantity of toiletries were also stolen during the break-in, which was discovered at 5am on October 21. Anyone with information should call Bicester police on 01869 364520.
