Security guard Trevor Dawes, 57, of Eastern Avenue, Rose Hill, died suddenly from cancer of the liver in August. He had been a guard at the shopping centre since 1997.

Staff at Vision Security helped raise the money to provide the plaque that was placed on a bench at the centre on October 20.

Mrs Dawes said: "He was a great husband. He made friends very easily and was very good at his job. Everyone liked him.

"It's been hard for James to accept the death. It was a real shock to us all."
