Ex-Thame midfielder Nando Perna is considering an offer to join Division 2 side Abingdon Town.
Boss Alan Thorne said they contacted Perna after he was released by Oxford City.
Thorne added: "We were hoping he could play for us last Saturday against Dorking. But since then he has had an offer from Aylesbury.
"It would be a shame if he can't come to us, because he is a quality player. But we can't compete with teams like that. We've made him an offer and we're just waiting for a reply."
Town are at full strength for the visit of Kingsbury Town.
Banbury United defender Kieron Sullivan could miss their crucial clash with Ashford Town at The Stadium.
Sullivan suffered a badly-twisted knee in Tuesday's 4-4 draw at Erith. Banbury miss Jody McKay and Scott Taylor who are unavailable, plus knee-injury victims Phil Mason and Andy Wallbridge.
"Phil had the knee flushed out, but he has suffered a reaction. It's very frustrating for him and us. We may need a second opinion on the knee," said manager Kevin Brock.
He added: "Ashford will be a hard game, because they are going well, but we're playing well."
