Tony Woodward has resigned as chairman of Cherry Red Records Hellenic League side Wantage Town, citing disillusionment with the game as his main reason.
Woodward's departure follows the recent decision of first team manager Stuart Peace to quit the club, and then reappear as part of Didcot Town's management team, followed by his targeting of players at Alfredian Park.
Woodward said: "Loyalty is a two-way attribute, and as such I felt it should be demonstrated by both club and manager. In this case, it has not been shown."
He added that he was also concerned at what he called the league's 'bureaucratic' management.
"Football clubs at this level are run by individuals who give vast amounts of time and effort freely. Those individuals need encouragement, not petty fines."
Woodward said, however, that he will continue to co-ordinate the new development of the club, and will oversee the extension to the clubhouse.
"I am sure that things are going in the right direction, and I will still help in any way I can," he said.
Peace was unavailable for comment.
