An Oxford woman who went shopping with a stolen bank card has been warned to expect jail if she re-offends.
Tracey Bye, 21, of Croft Road, Marston, dishonestly received the card on March 9 and obtained £134 in cash and cigarettes from Tesco at Oxford Retail Park. Bye, who had no previous convictions, admitted handling the stolen card, obtaining property by deception and failing to answer bail. She asked for a total of five similar deceptions at Sainsburys, Budgens, Somerfield and Tesco to be taken into consideration on sentence when she appeared before Oxford Crown Court.
Judge Tom Corrie said the credit card had been stolen by someone from the grandmother of one of Bye's friends. He ordered Bye to undergo an 80-hour community punishment order.
