Blacksmith Fred Harriss took time off from his forge to deliver a thank you to Witney Community Hospital.
The 75-year-old Charlbury man joined fellow members of the Wychwood Lodge of the Buffaloes to hand over a cheque for £715.
"The Buffaloes do a lot charity work, usually behind the scenes," said Mr Harriss, of Sturt Close, Charlbury.
"But the hospital has done so much for many old people I know that they deserve recognition. This is a way of giving something back to help them."
The money came from several fundraising events, including a coffee morning at Charlbury's Corner House.
Members of Charlbury Methodist Church and Evergreens Club for the over-60s helped boost the funds through the sale of home-made produce.
Mr Harriss, started his blacksmith career as a ten-year-old at a forge in Langford.
