Abingdon recorded their third successive victory in Division 2 with a 5-1 win in a bruising encounter at Enfield.

Abingdon found themselves a goal down after 15 minutes when Enfield's Graham Sparry deflected the ball into the net following a free hit on the edge of the circle.

However, Abingdon kept their composure and two goals from captain Will Trigg, the first a tremendous strike from 15 yards, saw them in front at half-time.

Ten minutes into the second half, Abingdon increased their lead when Ron Smith beat the last defender before tucking the ball under the advancing keeper.

Neil Spencer, making his comeback, added Abingdon's fourth at the resulting penalty corner, diverting sweeper Ross Morgan's off-target strike goalwards from five yards.

Enfield then had a penalty corner strike saved on the goalline by Abingdon centre back David Pegg.

And ten minutes from the end, Morgan scored Abingdon's fifth with a well-placed penalty-corner strike.
