The Orchid Lake complex over at Dorchester does not only hold some wonderful carp, but also some pretty decent catfish, as local angler Paul Scarrot confirmed this week.
He fished a popped-up deadbait over a bed of pellets to land a mighty fish of 35.1.0.
The club lake, where I suspect this fish came from, can be booked as a match venue. Contact Marsh Pratley on 01865 341810
I HAVE been saying for a long time that there are some good roach to be caught at Linear Fisheries Smiths/Hardwick Lakes, and sure enough, last week, carp angler Ron Buss from Surrey captured a nice fish weighing 2.15.0.
Ron saw some roach rolling, so scaled down and fished for them. He caught the fish on a size 12 hook and a Tutti Frutti mini boilie.
