Twenty-four hours before her defeat by Jude Craft in the Oxford Mail League, Ellen Leggate, running for Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow, beat the Headington runner by just two seconds in the Chiltern Cross Country League.
But despite the Windsor team packing well, Headington still took the team prize, with Allison Hirst, Tracey Galbraith and Iona Robertson all in good form. Radley Ladies' Carolyn Plateau won the under 15 girls race.
