The Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police, Peter Neyroud, is to commend officers who successfully cracked down on robberies in Oxfordshire.
Operation Robbery began in April in response to a 35 per cent increase in robbery over the previous 12 months.
The key aim was to slow the rise but by September, the team had managed to reduce robberies by three per cent -- which meant 42 fewer victims of crime.
By mid October the figure had fallen by six per cent -- 85 fewer victims.
In the first six months the team arrested 754 people, which resulted in 423 charges. The team achieved a detection rate of 31 per cent, three per cent above the target.
After reaching court, 22 people were sent to prison for a total of 39 years. There are a further 343 alleged offenders awaiting trial.
The awards ceremony will be held at Drayton Golf Club near Abingdon on Thursday (November 14).
