Captain Matthew Watts, from Cholsey, has spent the past year in the former Yugoslavian republic as a peacekeeper.
Capt Watts said: "There is an immediate need for warm clothing and bedding to help these people survive the winter. Items which you may no longer use could help save lives in Bosnia and Herzegovina."
