Witney baker Gerald Stokes has condemned a thief who stole a box used to collect money for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
Every year Mr Stokes and his wife Veronica collect money for the appeal by selling poppies at their shop in Corn Street.
They also have collecting boxes on their counter for other charities.
Mr Stokes said: "Those boxes are chained to the counter and we had fixed the box for the poppies to the chain with string.
"Some time on Friday (November 8) someone cut the string and took the box.
"I think it is disgraceful."
