Cashpoint users in Oxford have been warned to be on their guard after a series of distraction thefts in the city.
Fraudsters working in pairs or small groups are watching over people's shoulders to get the pin number, before distracting customers away from the machine.
Cashpoint users are also being distracted from the machine by a man, while another swipes the card details with a machine and replaces it in the machine without the victim realising. Police are warning people using cashpoints in Oxford to be vigilant following the latest incident in George Street on Wednesday.
A man was withdrawing cash at about 1.45pm when he was approached by a man who told him he had dropped his money.
As he bent down, another man swiped his card details.
Police are linking it to a spate of similar offences across Oxford.
