Wallingford's pubs are pulling together to support a cash-strapped local charity which helps the elderly and disabled.
They are organising raffles, quiz nights and other events, and have collecting bottles on their bars.
Their efforts have been praised by Chris Tyndall, who is the chairman of the management committee organising the Wallingford Work Centre for the elderly and disabled.
He said: "The centre costs about £9,000 a year to run and we're always short of cash.
"Town council member John Beeton and myself decided to ask the pubs for help and they have all responded magnificently.
"We have been given absolutely amazing support."
He commented: "We have been going 25 years and we're going to keep going -- and any help we can get from local people is extremely welcome."
The centre, based at Flint House in High Street, has people doing simple work like packing, filling envelopes and collating work.
Mr Tyndall said: "We aim to reach people who do not belong to things like the day centre and who would otherwise be sitting at home doing next to nothing.
"Our centre offers basic work and social contact and we pay for what is done.
"We always need more work, and any company which can use our skills is welcome to contact me on 01491 836651."
A flag day for the centre last week raised £576.
