A serious injury to Witney No 8 Will Hook led to the abandonment of their second-round David Charles Oxfordshire Cup tie at Bicester after 56 minutes.
Bicester and Witney go head to head
The luckless Hook broke a leg in a freak accident during a tackle and will be out for several months.
The game has been rearranged for Saturday, November 23.
At the time of the injury, Bicester were leading 10-9. They looked the hungrier side, following the previous week's defeat at Witney's hands.
Francis Grant landed two early penalties for Witney, while his opposite number, Ross Cunningham, missed two easier ones for Bicester.
The home side were in the ascendancy and won three scrums inside the Witney 22. A fourth scrum was conceded only ten metres from the line, and scrum half Stuart Cassidy nipped in for a try under the posts.
Cunningham converted and then added a penalty to give Bicester a deserved 10-6 interval lead.
Grant reduced the arrears with a penalty, but Bicester stayed in charge, despite losing Cassidy with a knee ligament injury
If Bicester had kicked their penalties, they would have been well ahead by the time of the abandonment.
Witney's preparations were not helped when second row Russell Wadsley suffered an injury in the warm-up.
