A boarding house for St Edward's School pupils is to be built in north Oxford.

It will consist of two three-storey buildings alongside Oakthorpe Road, linked by a single storey corridor.

Two garage blocks and a temporary classroom will be demolished to make way for the development.

A metal fence with razor wire surrounding the Oakthorpe Road entrance to the site will be taken down following complaints from residents.

A 45-space staff car park near the Esporta sports complex, Woodstock Road, will be created.

The school has agreed to consider contributing towards the cost of a pelican crossing on Woodstock Road as part of the deal.
