SIR -- Reading the Oxford Mail and listening to the local radio, it comes to mind what a mad country we live in when we consider the plight of our elderly and see them parted after many years (Oxford Mail, November 8).
Our taxes do not seem to be helping these people, yet £4m can be used to build a centre for people who were not invited here or entered the country illegally.
