Police investigating the death of Banbury woman Mandy Rogers say a couple in a car who spoke to her could have important information.

Miss Rogers, 34, went missing from her home in The Fairway in July.

Her body was found by a farmer harvesting a field in Warmington in south Warwickshire on September 5.

Det Sgt Steve Duffy said: "We're not treating the death as suspicious but we're preparing a full report for the coroner."

He appealed for the occupants of a car who spoke to Miss Rogers shortly after she left home on Sunday, July 7, to come forward. He said: "There's a reliable report from a passing motorist that she was seen standing by a car parked on the B4100 Warwick Road north of Banbury -- near the Hanwell turn.

"We think she was given a lift and the people in the car can help."

The car was described as a dark-coloured hatchback with a man and woman, both middle-aged, in the front seats. The man was wearing a red V-necked sweater.

Miss Rogers was 5ft 5in, with shoulder-length, dark brown hair. She was last seen wearing a light-coloured blouse, blue denim skirt, white knee-length socks, and black shoes.

Her body was found just outside the area that was searched by police after her disappearance.
