Cherry Red Records Hellenic League: Abingdon Utd 3,Gloucester Utd 1
ABINGDON came good in the second half to complete a treble over Gloucester, having already beaten them away and at home in the Floodlit Cup.
The first half seemed to be going the way of many of their recent matches as they spurned a hatful of chances.
Frankie Dorrian was denied by the keeper and then saw another effort bounce off the angle of bar and post. Ryan Curtin and Pete Moss also went close.
Five minutes into the second half, Abingdon at last got some reward as Bennett parried away a vicious shot from Pete Moss, and Dean Moss followed up to drive the ball home.
Abingdon quickly made it 2-0 as Dean Moss notched his second by smacking home a low whipped cross from Darren Beckett.
With five minutes left, a free kick was nodded back across goal by Andy Marriott, and Chris Hooper reacted quickly to head home No 3.
Gloucester got a consolation goal a minute from time as Maggs beat the offside trap.
