Youths threw sticks and stones at buses and cars on Friday (March 14) in the latest in a series of stoning incidents in the Headington area.

Police said they received reports of youths in their late teens stoning vehicles in London Road at about 9pm.

Police also believe the same youths may be responsible for throwing a brick through the window of the Coventry Building Society in London Road the same night.

Last month, a 51-year-old bus driver was hit on the head by a piece of concrete thrown through the open doors of an Oxford Bus Company vehicle in Barton.

Police warned it would only be a matter of time before someone else was injured after a series of attacks on buses and cars.

The Oxford Mail reported how youths caused £200 worth of damage when they smashed the wheel arch of a Stagecoach bus travelling through Headington.

In a separate incident, vandals threw an object which smashed the window of a bus in Pegasus Road, Barton.
