Thame Utd 0, Harlow Tn 0: This game neatly encapsulated the fortunes of Thame United's season as they created a host of chances, but failed to take them.

At the back, United looked solid and restricted Harlow to only a handful of scoring opportunities as the Ryman Division 1 North points were shared.

With a squad already decimated by injury and suspensions, manager Andy Sinnott received another blow when key defender Mark Avery pulled a hamstring in the pre-match warm-up.

The last-minute crisis handed a debut to striker Walla Oyelowo and Thame responded positively to the late disruption, with Jon Gardner, Dave Thornton, James Saulsbury and Tony Joyce having excellent games.

Young striker Danny Keen, who has been grabbing the headlines recently with his goalscoring exploits, had an afternoon he will want to forget, missing several presentable opportunities.

In a hard-fought first period, substitute Paul Hedger went close with an effort from outside the box and United were unlucky when Harlow defender Gavin Goodger headed against his own crossbar.

After the interval, Keen worked hard to create a chance for himself in the 55th minute, but shot high and wide from six yards, and Justin Merritt was also off target two minutes later.

The visitors had their moments and Beckett Hollenbach miscued when well-placed.

Thame had a penalty appeal waved aside in the 68th minute when Enzon Silvestri was sent tumbling inside the box.

In the final minutes Keen was sent clear, but the teenager lacked composure and shot wide to cap a miserable afternoon.
