Radley's Hamish Gordon is tipped for the top in the SEAT Cupra Championship.
After testing at Jarama, Spain, Gordon, 32, emerged as one of the top three favourites to win the championship, which has the largest prize fund of all series in the UK.
The champion this year wins a works drive in the European Touring Car Championship next year with SEAT, worth £500,000.
He said: "I raced last year in the Renault Clio Cup and previous to this have raced in Formula Palmer Audi, Formula Ford, Formula Vauxhall and Caterham K Championships."
The Seat Cupra Championship is a one-make Touring Car series, brought over from Spain for its maiden year in the UK.
All the drivers have the same 250 horsepower SEAT Leon Cupra R Touring Cars Gordon's sponsors for this year are The Sunday Times, P&O Ferries, Spa Mineral Water, Toshiba and Abingdon cashpoint company Infocash, who have sponsored the likes of McLaren and Arrows.
