A man has appeared at Oxford Crown Court accused of sexual assault.
Vincent Morris, 41, of Mably Way, Grove, near Wantage, denies indecently assaulting a girl under the age of 14 between August 1999 and July 2000.
Rachel Drake prosecuting, said the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told her mother on September 3 last year.
Morris was interviewed by police the next day.
The trial continues.
