The English sometimes seem reluctant to celebrate their saint's day.

Songs, fables and a generous amount of alcohol all combine to make the saints' days of Patrick, Andrew and David occasions to remember year after year.

But St George's Day is allowed to come and go with little recognition.

This year, the Oxford Mail wants to make sure it is marked, but in a manner that would meet with the approval of the old dragon-slaying knight.

Dignity and modesty are our watchwords.

We want you to tell us about Your England -- the positive things the country means to you. Of what can England be proud?

Whether you were born here or have made England your home, share your thoughts.

We will publish a selection of your comments on St George's Day -- Wednesday, April 23.
