These are the faces of seven men police want to question in relation to violence at an Oxford United football match.

The men were all captured on CCTV footage during the trouble at a third-round Worthington Cup tie between Oxford United and Aston Villa.

The all-ticket match at Oxford's Kassam Stadium on November 6 saw the home side go down by three goals to nil in front of a 12,000 capacity crowd.

Police say the seven men were under the North Stand during half-time when fighting on the terraces broke out.

One steward suffered a head wound when a bolt was hurled over safety doors and into the crowd during the clash.

Tony Ashley, Oxford United's stadium manager and safety officer said anyone found guilty of offences would be subject to orders, banning them from attending football matches.

Mr Ashley praised the use of CCTV in football stadiums. He said: "Certainly over the last five or six years the cameras that have been placed in grounds are thankfully eradicating some of the hooliganism.

"Here at the Kassam stadium we have got an excellent system and it is bearing fruit. If you break the law you will be caught."

Four men and a youth from Birmingham have since been arrested and pleaded guilty to using theatening behaviour following the scenes of violence at the match.

Lee Williams, 29, of Kingstanding Road, Kingstanding, Birmingham; David Buttery, 33, of Warwick Road, Solihull; Paul Haywood, 33, of Yatesbury Avenue, Castle Vale, Birmingham; and a 17-year-old youth from Erdington, Birmingham; appeared before Oxford magistrates on April 25, where they all admitted using threatening behaviour.

All four were given a three-year banning order from domestic and international games and fined £200 each.

One man, Scott Ford, 20, of Sudely Close, Castle Bromwhich, Birmingham, awaits trial on a charge of threatening behaviour, which he denies.

His case has been adjourned for three weeks.
