Abingdon town crier Tony Legge will be among more than 20 people taking part in an annual town criers festival.
He was elected by Abingdon's six other town criers to represent the town in Bromyard, Herefordshire.
He said: "It will be my first competition so I have some pre-match nerves. But I'll give it my best shout."
Mr Legge, who will make three cries of between 75 and 100 words each on Saturday and Sunday, has been practising on a hill top in Scotland.
In his first cry he will describe Abingdon, its bun throwing ceremony and the county hall.
The subject of his second cry -- deodorant -- is inspired by the clothes he wears as a town crier, a large green coat, knee breeches, white stockings, buckled shoes, and tricorn hat.
He has yet to decide his third.
