Two rush-hour trains will run non-stop from Banbury to London Marylebone when Chiltern Railways summer timetable begins on May 18.

More trains will start from Banbury enabling passengers catching trains at Banbury, Bicester North and Haddenham and Thame Parkway stations to have a greater availability of seats into London Marylebone.

In designing the new timetable, Chiltern Railways says it has improved punctuality and reliability and provided extra seats at the most popular times of travel.

While there are slightly fewer trains, more will start from Banbury at peak hours.

Passengers from Banbury will enjoy faster journey times into and out of London with fewer stops in between.

Two services will be non-stop into London Marylebone at peak times.

Off-peak services will be more evenly spaced from all stations giving a train about every 30 mintues throughout the day.

An investment of almost £11m means nine new Clubman trains will be introduced, which will result in Clubman trains on most services.

Changes mean Chiltern will be providing about 1,500 new seats for passengers in the morning and 1,600 seats in the evenings.

A new service to Banbury will leave London Marylebone at 5.41pm, calling at Haddenham and Thame and Bicester North.
