The owner of an Oxford restaurant has won the right to challenge a judgement that he must pay a former employee £40,000 for breach of copyright.
Aziz-ur Rahman, who runs the Aziz restaurant in Cowley Road, Oxford, successfully challenged the judgement at Oxford County Court yesterday.
Former employee Tony Henton, 48, of West Way, Botley, sued Mr Aziz for breach of copyright, after photos of a function at the Asian Community Centre in Manzil Way appeared in four Asian newspapers. Mr Henton alleged Mr Rahman gave the photos to the newspapers without his permission. Last year, Mr Henton got a civil judgement against Mr Rahman for £40,000.
Mr Aziz's case will go to trial on the first available date after August 1.
