Joe Sayers hit his first century of the season for Oxford UCCE who comfortably beat Durham on first innings in their opening Inter UCCE Championship match at The Parks yesterday.
Joe Sayers
The Yorkshire registered left-hander, unbeaten on 51 overnight out of Oxford's 110-2 in reply to Durham's total of 143, took his score to 123 during a partnership of 168 with Huw Jones before he was trapped lbw by Will Smith.
Oxford required another 29 runs to pick up a fourth batting point, but only eight overs were sent down after lunch before steady rain, followed by a heavy downpour, drove the players off the field.
Scores: Durham UCCE 143 (P McMahon 4-47, M Munday 3-32), Oxford UCCE 271-3 (J Sayers 123, H Jones 77 no, B Cowan 42). RSP Oxford won on first innings. Oxford 17 pts, Durham 1
