Barking & East Ham Utd 0, Oxford City 0: A weary and much-changed City continued their excellent run when they returned from a difficult trip to Essex with a well-earned Ryman Division 1 North point on Thursday night.

Showing six changes from Tuesday's Senior Cup success, City had a let-off in the 12th minute when Billy Read's chip over Steve Benbow struck a post.

In what was to prove his only save for the rest of the game, City's keeper blocked a shot from Jay Murray, but just before half-time, opposite number Lee Richards did well to save a low drive from Rory Jenkins.

In the 50th minute, Barking were lucky to keep 11 men on the field when Mark Simms was flattened by Richards as he rounded the keeper on the edge of the area.

With Richards receiving only a yellow card, he was soon in action again, denying Jemaine Ferreira and then Matty Whitehead's shot struck a defender and deflected just over.

City nearly won it in injury time when Simms's shot bounced away off the knees of Richards.

Oxford City: Benbow, Dark, Cruse, Jenkins, Craker, Ballard, Ferreira, Whitehead (Wise 89), Simms, Wimble. Subs not used: Lee, Lewis.
