Home Counties Premier League: Bicester & North Oxford have signed Pakistani all-rounder Inam ul Haq - and he is set to make his debut in the Division 2 West Oxfordshire derby at Thame tomorrow.

Skipper Darryl Woods is hoping ul Haq can inspire Bicester to their first win of the season following their opening day defeat by Gerrards Cross.

Gary Sansome and Mike Simpson also come into Bicester's side, with Richard Kelly dropping to the 2nd XI, and Stuart Kennedy (injured) and James Holton (exams) both missing.

Thame make two changes following their opening 29-run defeat at Falkland.

Left-arm spinner Kevin Crawford and medium pacer Ian McStay come into the side in place of Joe Middleton and Jarrad Andrew.

Thame were bowled out for 91 last week, and Rob Brooks, who has taken on the role of team manager after breaking a leg, said: "There were a few harsh words about how we approach playing against better bowlers."

Skipper Rupert Evans is looking for an improved display from his Oxford side when they visit Hemel Hempstead in Division 1 - despite being lifted by the opening day win over Banbury.

Evans, who names an unchanged side, said: "It was very nice to win and I am not being ungrateful, but we can play better than that.

"There were a lot of good things about it, but we need to bat with a lot more consistency than we did last week.

"David Angove was excellent and I think our seamers bowled well, but our spinners didn't bowl as well as they can."

Banbury call up young off spinner Jimmy Phillips for their home game against Radlett.

He comes into the side in place of all-rounder Ollie Murrey, who drops down to the 2nd XI.

Skipper Craig Haupt said: "Jimmy bowled brilliantly against Stratford on Sunday, so we thought he deserved to go into the first team."

Banbury's captain is looking for an improved battling display following the defeat at Oxford.

"We had a long chat and the batters understand where we are coming from, and they showed a lot of character on Sunday," he said.

Henley continue to be frustrated by the non-arrival of their new signing, all-rounder Waqar Ahmed from Pakistan.

The former Burnham player, not to be confused with wicket-keeper/batsman Waqar Ahmad who is playing for the Bucks club this season, is still in Peshwar.

Henley chairman Danny Hall said: "I actually spoke to him in Pakistan on Monday, and he is still awaiting his passport from the British High Commission.

Opening batsman Chris Ellison is unavailable for the home game with Reading, but Mark Bredell is expected to play after what was thought to be a hamstring injury turned out to be a trapped nerve.

Darren White, who picked up a calf strain in last Saturday's draw at Beaconsfield, is also fit, having scored runs in Henley's six-wicket win over Wembley in the National Club Championship the following day.
