A bunch of regulars from the Tite Inn in Chadlington, including Witney MP David Cameron, are getting back on their bikes to raise money for charity.

Last year, they cycled from London to the pub. This year, they will be pedalling about 130 miles along the Grand Union Canal and Oxford Canal to raise money for three good causes. They are the Abbeyfield Home for the elderly in the village, the Lawrence Home Nursing Trust, which looks after the terminally ill in the Chipping Norton area, and the Oxfordshire Association for the Blind. Mr Cameron, who lives in nearby Dean, said: "Last year, we had such great fun that we decided we would do it again, but I said it would either have to be in Holland or along a canal so there were no hills!

"The trouble is I have not used my bike much since but I intend cycling to work from my home in London to the House of Commons through Hyde Park."

The 20-strong group will take two days to complete the ride, starting on Tuesday, September 22, in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire.
