More than 100 jobs are being created at an £8m tennis and leisure centre opening at Oxford Business Park.

David Lloyd Leisure is now in the early stages of construction at the business park. The racquets, health & fitness club will open next February.

The development will include three indoor and three outdoor tennis courts, a 25-metre swimming pool, and a large fitness hall, as well as two aerobics studios.

There will also be a creche, cafe, sauna and steam room and spa bath area at the centre off Garsington Way, Cowley.

The company is looking to recruit about 100 people, with jobs in health and fitness and racquets operations, hospitality, sales and marketing, and management.

Stacey Hubbard, human resources manager for David Lloyd Leisure, said: "This is a real opportunity for us to recruit a fantastic team to reflect the wonderful facilities on the way at David Lloyd Leisure Oxford.

"While we welcome expertise in the racquets, health and fitness industry, it is far more important to us to identify the right kind of people."

Early sign-up incentives are also being offered to persuade members to join. The club is offering a range of options, including deals for families, couples, and pensioners, and off-peak membership.

David Penniston, property director for David Lloyd Leisure, added: "The Oxford Business Park is ideally located for a David Lloyd Leisure club.

"Not only does it have excellent visibility from the Oxford southern ring road, but it also benefits from excellent residential areas nearby."
