Oxfordshire Senior League: HOrspath upset the odds as they sent Premier side OUP spinning out of the President's Cup at the first-round stage with a 3-1 defeat.

A shock was on the cards when Horspath took an early lead through Paul Cooper who rifled home at the far post.

And it got worse for OUP on 35 minutes, when Paul Flack lobbed the OUP keeper Graham Savin.

OUP battled back through Dave Fowles and they would have levelled, had it not been for a great block from Horspath keeper Chris Gray, who kept out Bailey Harman.

Any hopes of an OUP comeback were wrecked by John Weekes Pearson who slotted home from close range to complete OUP's misery.

Garsington crashed out of the competition after a 4-2 defeat at home to Haddenham.

Andy Smith was in hot form for the visitors as he grabbed a hat-trick. David Hawes got the other for Haddenham.

Launton Sports continued their impressive start to the season as they beat Kidlington Old Boys 2-1.

Mark Nelson was forced to clear off his own line in the 35th minute, and from the clearance Tony Cowles controlled the ball before running the length of the field to net a remarkable opener.

Darren Cox doubled the advantage before half-time, and although Old Boys pulled a goal back when Todd Porter-Hunt netted with 20 minutes to go, Launton held on.
