Morrells of Oxford Sunday League: Hot-shot Michaes Herbert bagged a brace as Division 2 leaders Nelson steamrollered Division 1 outfit Northway 6-0 in the quarter-final of the League Cup.

Keiron Powell also netted a double for Nelson, with Anaclet Odhiambo and Delroy Thomas completing the rout.

In Division 2, Riverside brushed aside Cavalier 4-0 in atrocious conditions.

The blustery cross winds prevented either side taking charge in the first half, but ten minutes before the break, Alex Bunn controlled well before slotting home to give Riverside a 1-0 half-time lead.

After the break, the home side took command.

Charlie Ochola added a second goal, beating several defenders before finishing in style, then Moses Ochiela capped an excellent performance with Riverside's third, getting on the end of a fine cross.

And when Ochiela was brought down in the box, Vince Oweka converted from the spot to make it 4-0.

Iffley Harriers took a giant step towards promotion to Division 2, with a 6-1 victory over rivals Cowley Rovers.

Playing into a strong wind, Iffley were quickly out of the traps, taking a 2-0 lead inside ten minutes.

The first came from an inch-perfect header into the top corner from Alain Pettigrew, then midfielder Dave Couins volleyed in from close range.

Harriers pulled a goal back from the penalty spot, but Harriers restored their two-goal lead on the stroke of half-time when a tremendous run and cross from Jamie Lamb was met firmly by Wayne Cox.

Iffley completely dominated the second half.

Cousins made it 4-1, finishing off a pin-point cross after good work down the left by the impressive Cox, and after another mazy run ended with Cox being upended in the box, Pettigrew scored his second from the spot.

Cox completed the rout with a marvellous run and shot past the despairing Rovers keeper.

Only the heroics of keeper Shaun Akers prevented Berkshire House from going down by more than the 9-1 drubbing they received from visitors Cold Arbour Res.

Despite being under constant pressure, House took Cold Arbour by surprise as they broke away to take the lead with a 25-yard effort from Nathan Allan.

Wayne Desmond tapped in a Craig Bloomfield cross to make it 1-1 by the break.

In the second half, Arbour ran riot as they rattled in eight further goals without reply.

Terry Stockford, returning from suspension, grabbed a hat-trick, while Bloomfield and Wayne Desmond netted braces, and John Wardlaw and Gary Chapman completed the rout.
