Sir -- I read your article about lorries going through the village of Weston-on-the-Green (Oxford Mail, September 1) and felt people living there are making a bit of a fuss.
Come and live in Kirtlington, and see what a 'rat run' is really like.
The A4095 goes through the middle of the village.
Not only do HGVs come off the M40 to go to Gloucester, Cheltenham and other places, they use the pavement as a motorway.
The money that has been wasted on humps in Heyford Road would have been better spent providing a safe crossing for people going to the shop, church, school and village hall.
Is anyone going to act before a child or pensioner is fatally injured?
Let's have a bit of old-fashioned commonsense before a fatal accident happens.
