Nine-year-old singer Zo Mace, pictured, is set to make her national debut tomorrow singing live on GMTV.

The Cokethorpe School pupil will perform on the ITV morning show just days before the launch of her CD, which has been produced to raise money for the Oxford Children's Hospital Campaign.

Zo, who has been dubbed the next Charlotte Church, hopes to make £18,000 from the nine-track Little Ray of Light album to thank doctors and nurses who have looked after her four-year-old sister Jodie since she was born.

The little girl has Down's syndrome and three holes in her heart. She is due to have surgery next year to correct a cardiac condition called complex AV septal defect.

Her mother Linda, of Witney Road, Freeland, said the live performance of Harbanera, from Bizet's opera Carmen, could push the fundraising to national levels.

She said: "This could go nationwide, but it could be a huge problem to get copies to people all over the UK."

Mrs Mace, 41, said Zoe was very excited about the trip to GMTV's studios in London, especially as pop group Blue, right, are also on the show. She said: "GMTV phoned up and asked for a copy of the CD and I chased them up and asked if they'd listened to it when we didn't hear from them. They were really impressed and have invited her on the show."

Little Ray of Light, which was named by Zo as a tribute to Jodie, was played on the airwaves for the first time today by Fox FM.

It will be officially launched at a party on Sunday, at Cokethorpe School, and will be available in WH Smith shops in Oxfordshire on Monday. All the money raised from the £5.99 folk and opera compilation will go towards the £15m appeal to fund a paediatric centre at the John Radcliffe Hospital, in Headington, which is due to open at the end of next year.
