People power has saved a well-used bus service between Didcot and Oxford from being axed.
The X47 service, formerly the 107, which links Didcot, Long Wittenham, Clifton Hampden, Berinsfield and Oxford, was set to finish on Saturday.
But several hundred people signed three petitions to support keeping public transport links and passengers lobbied David Robertson, Oxfordshire County Council's executive member for transport, to persuade him to keep the bus running.
On Thursday, members of the county council's transport implementation committee agreed to save the Thames Travel service. It will also be turned from a two-hourly bus to one-hourly.
