My thanks to David Harrison (Oxford Mail, April 13) who so eloquently showed off his knowledge of the law, red tape and bureaucracy, about my suggestion of the two Oxford bus companies dividing their services to the city between them.
I thought my idea was too simple, but it does sound to me as if the powers-that-be are like the committee which set out to make a horse and ended up with a camel.
The fact still remains that there are far more buses queuing at the same stops than are necessary, causing air pollution in Oxford (for example, buses bound for Kidlington in Magdalen Street).
It is time something was done before we all choke to death.
I have a 'pass' which can be used for both companies, so I cannot see how 'healthy competition' comes into the equation.
