Reading Peter Unsworth's article in Cabbages & Kings about disabled parking (Oxford Mail, June 3), I was surprised to learn that the Community Police Support Officer did not know the rules of the blue badge. Blue badge holders are permitted to park on double yellow lines, without causing obstruction, for up to three hours. This is printed on the time clock.

This now raises the question -- do they receive sufficient training before they are allowed on the streets?

Disabled people have enough to put up with without risking being booked for an offence which technically they have not committed.

I do enjoy Cabbages & Kings -- it is very entertaining. John Walton, St James Road, Radley
