Sir – I fail to see the relevance of the profession of the subject of the news item (Co-op refused soldier bottle of whisky, March 18).
Surely the point is whether a store is, or is not, within its rights to refuse to serve a customer suspected of buying alcohol for a minor. Or are you implying that members of the Armed Forces should be above the law?
