Teens warned over Charlbury vandalism

THREE teenagers have admitted hurling large plant pots on to railway lines and daubing buildings in Charlbury with graffiti.

The boys, two aged 15 and one aged 14, were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage following the vandalism at Charlbury and Shipton-under-Wychwood stations on December 13.

We understand one of the boy’s parents made him hand himself in to police after recognising her son in descriptions released by officers.

All three received a final police warning.

Surely these children don't come from Choolbury?

The issue of a "final police warning" indicates that these criminals have been caught before. At what stage does society actually punish them for their crimes? When a train derails and people lose their lives??! For goodness sake, bring back some kind of discipline to our society and sort these young thugs out before they inevitably emerge into larger thugs.

Well done to the parent who made their child own up, this is the parental responsibility we need to see more of.

Yet again another joke. What happened to the Police statement of 'No tolerance'? Perhaps if this happens again and a train derails Police will take full responsibility.
